SHIPPENSBURG — Coudersport’s Cale Ayers took second in the shot put (55-8.5) during Friday’s PIAA Class AA track and field state championships.
Also placing was Kane’s Zuke Smith, who finished fourth in the long jump (21-7).
Smith was also part of the Wolves’ 1600-meter relay team that finished fourth with a time of 3:29.64. The team also consisted of Josh Greville, Jack Bell and Josh Buhl. Greville also came in sixth in the pole vault (13-0).
Also placing were Smethport’s Ryli Burritt, who took fifth in the triple jump (43-3.5), and Johnsonburg’s RJ Miller came in seventh in the high jump (6-2).
For the girls, Jburg’s Chloe Trumbull placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in 47.05, while Coudy’s Rosalyn Page got sixth in the shot put (38-4.5). She also finished ninth in the discus (121-5).
Elk Catholic’s Tori Newton came in ninth in the javelin (127-5).
