Football fans around the world can easily argue that every time Tom Brady shows up anywhere he automatically calls the game to his favor. After getting tired of winning everything in the AFC Brady decided it was time to give the NFC a shot with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As soon as Brady moved to Tampa, Vegas NFL odds experts automatically put the Buccaneers as the team to beat in the NFC and a Super Bowl win later one could easily argue they weren’t wrong.
With a new season approaching and some exciting moves being done around the league both through the draft and the free agent market, who is looking best to take their divisions in the NFC? Let’s get to it
NFC East: Washington Football Team
What? We’re not picking the Dallas Cowboys? Well, no. And before all of “America’s team” fans jump in anger, it’s not because we hate the Cowboys, we’re better than that. The facts are simple, the Cowboys will be a wrecking ball of a team as soon as Dak Prescott can come back in full form, until then there’s no real proof to put Dallas as favorites here. Washington on the other hand can brag about having what most NFL analysts consider the best defensive line in the league. In a sport where offenses win games and defenses win championships you can’t deny Washington’s true talent.
Led by Chase Young on the defense and getting ready to ride the “Fitzmagic” with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the offensive charge, you have to love Washington’s chances here. It doesn’t take much to win the NFC East, that’s a fact all football fans have come to learn in the past few years and with the Giants and Eagles not really offering up any real threats Washington is the way to go here.
NFC North: Green Bay Packers
Look, unless Aaron Rodgers literally decides to not show up for work and leave the Packers hanging, which he won’t do because Rodgers is a class act of a guy, then the Packers are taking the division here. Here is the case of how one player’s performance and level can affect a whole team and in Green Bay’s case it’s no secret as to why they haven’t tanked. It’s Aaron Rodgers people, it’s always been him.
The Vikings with Kirk Cousins are a cool team to root for here but they’re not good enough to be divisional champions. The Bears? Justin Fields will be a definite upgrade in the QB department and they do have a solid defense and WR core but no, no real shot for Chicago here. Finally, the Lions. Trading Matthew Stafford to the Rams for Jared Goff will easily become one of the most followed stories this season to see which one can have a better chance to succeed and let’s be honest Goff is not looking that hot. 2022 though, that will be a season to watch out for, especially since Rodgers will surely not be in Green Bay any more.
NFC West: Los Angeles Rams
This is usually one of the best divisions to watch when wanting some real competitive football. Everyone here plays to win or die trying and while Russell Wilson will always keep the Seahawks as relevant as possible and in the mix for great things, there’s no denying that Matthew Stafford will do some great stuff in LA. With stars like Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey having his back on the defensive side of the ball Stafford has all the tools available to become a star in the city of angels.
San Francisco and Arizona are both teams that will be very exciting to watch. But they are both teams that will need at least a year of regrouping and congealing to actually get some great results going. So with that said and based on the simple fact that at the end of the day Aaron Donald is one of those players that can change games, the Rams will take the division.
NFC South: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Is there really any other option here? It doesn’t really matter who plays in the division, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are just too much of a unit to be taken down here. After being able to re-sign all of their starters from last season’s Super Bowl title run, the Bucs band is back together and ready for more title seeking action.
Given the fact that the rest of the teams are either under a rebuild mode like the Saints and Panthers or under a state of denial like the Falcons, this division will not pose any threat whatsoever for Tampa Bay. Take the Bucs to win the division, easily, take them to make the NFC Championship game, take them to make the Super Bowl and if Tom Brady is healthy, take them to win it all.
