The year 2020 was one of change and adaptation. A new way to honor Bradford High seniors has grown from that adaptation: the senior parade.
The Bradford Area High School Class of 2021 will be honored with a parade through Bradford on June 1.
Similar to last year’s celebratory procession, the parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m. and will take place near Dunham’s Sports at the Bradford Mall. The parade will begin at 6 p.m.
The procession will leave the mall parking lot by Tractor Supply, turning left onto Bolivar Drive. It will proceed to the light and turn right onto East Main Street, traveling to Main Street and along the length of Main, turn right onto Mechanic Street, left onto West Washington Street and right onto Interstate Parkway, traveling past the high school and turning right on Abbott Road, right onto North Bennett Street, left onto School Street and along School Street and Jackson Avenue to Seaward Avenue. The procession will turn left on Seaward Avenue, travel to the light and turn right on Bolivar Drive, proceeding back to the mall and concluding at the parking lot.
All graduating seniors are invited to decorate a car or truck and drive or be escorted in the parade.
Participants are asked to stick to vehicles only, no trailers or horses for this special event.
In a community-focused addition to this year’s event, each senior is asked to bring an item (or a few) to be donated to Destinations.
Items needed for Destinations of Bradford include: Personal hygiene items, such as shampoo, soap, body wash, tooth paste, tooth brushes; Dish soap; laundry detergent; cleaning supplies (comet, bathroom cleaners, etc); non-perishable food items (canned good, boxed goods, etc) and reams of printer paper.
Spectators are welcome anywhere along the parade route.
