Twelve Bradford Area High School students were recognized as STEM Star Students by the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) College Readiness Program.
NMSI is an organization that aims to expand college readiness by promoting Advanced Placement (AP) courses and providing support to participating students, teachers and schools.
Ken Coffman, dean of students, presented certificates to students Mitchell Barker, Devin Benson, Cade Bucher, Vy Dao-Nguyen, Rosa Echevarria, Joseph Gunn, Kayli Keesler, Hannah Lary, Tamiera Perkins, Katherine Thompson, Adam Torrey and Alexis Ward for their participation and efforts in AP courses at the Bradford Area High School.
Each student also received a $500 cash award from the NMSI program. Since partnering with the NMSI program, Bradford Area High has increased student enrollment in AP courses, offered study sessions to support students, and promoted staff development.
