There were 15 new cases of COVID-19 in the region as of Thursday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 3,718 total cases of COVID-19, which includes 12 new cases; Elk County had one additional case for 2,852; Potter County two more cases for 1,159; and Cameron County’s case count remained at 300.
In McKean County, the cases are located as follows: Bradford, 1,191 confirmed and 233 probable; Lewis Run, 144 confirmed, 337 probable; Kane, 374 confirmed, 100 probable; Smethport, 337 confirmed, 49 probable; Port Allegany, 266 confirmed, 37 probable; Eldred, 169 confirmed, 38 probable; Mount Jewett, 60 confirmed, 18 probable; Duke Center, 50 confirmed, 9 probable; Rixford, 43 confirmed, 6 probable; Rew, 27 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Turtlepoint, 27 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Derrick City, 23 confirmed, 5 probable; Cyclone, 22 confirmed, 8 probable; Gifford, 16 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; Crosby, 10 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable; and Ludlow, 9 confirmed, 1 to 4 probable.
As of Thursday, the state had 1,430 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,191,532.
There were 1,353 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. McKean and Elk counties had no patients hospitalized with COVID-19, while Potter County had four.
There were 40 new deaths, identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 26,965 deaths attributed to COVID-19. In McKean County, there have been 71 deaths, in Elk, 39, in Potter, 23, and in Cameron, 6.
As of Thursday, there were 7,882 people in McKean County who were partially covered by the COVID-19 vaccine, and 8,472 fully covered; in Elk County, 1,787 partial and 12,332 full; in Potter County, 1,269 partial and 3,010 full; and in Cameron, 295 partial and 1,835 full.
According to the CDC, as of Thursday morning, Pennsylvania has administered first doses of vaccine to 55.4% of its entire population, and the state ranks 9th among all 50 states for first doses administered by percentage of population.
