PORT ALLEGANY — As a state-aided public library, S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library will follow the guidance of the Pennsylvania Department of Health on COVID-19 mitigation safety measures for businesses.
Patrons who have received two doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J COVID-19 vaccine may choose not to wear a mask inside the S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library. Unvaccinated patrons age three and up are required to wear an appropriate nose and mouth covering mask inside the library until 70% of Pennsylvanians age 18+ are vaccinated against COVID-19, as per guidance from the Department of Health.
The staff of the S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library will still practice COVID-19 cleaning and safety measures, including a quarantine period for returned library materials and a pause on book donations.
In the next month as building capacity limits change, there will be an interior transition of library furniture, safety shields, and areas currently unavailable to the public.
Library staff ask for the public’s patience as they manage the library’s interior space to fit the needs of library staff and patrons.
