Four local counties saw an increase in COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there were 27 new cases in the region.
McKean County had 19 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 3,651, 2,779 confirmed and 872 probable; Elk County had two additional cases for a total of 2,834, 1,559 confirmed and 1,275 probable; Potter County had five additional cases for 1,122, 979 confirmed and 143 probable; and Cameron County had one additional case for a total of 295, 199 confirmed and 96 probable.
The statewide total of COVID-19 cases totaled at 1,179,251, with 990,934 confirmed and 188,317 probable.
Regarding vaccines, McKean County had administered 7,903 partial and 8,032 full vaccinations, while Elk County had administered 2,080 partial and 11,727 full, Potter County had administered 1,272 partial and 2,921 full and Cameron County had administered 327 partial and 1,746 full vaccinations.
Pennsylvania currently has 1,712 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, with 397 adults in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 231 on ventilators.
McKean and Elk counties have one patient hospitalized with COVID-19, while Potter County has four patients hospitalized, with one in the ICU.
