Several managers and corporate officials with local gasoline stations in the Bradford area reported Wednesday that their stores have not been impacted by gasoline shortages, or price hikes, at present.
Their comments were in regard to fuel shortages experienced in areas across the East Coast following the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, a major U.S. fuel artery, that was struck by a cyberattack this past weekend.
At Tops Friendly Market in Bradford, a corporate spokesperson said there has been no impact with the store’s gasoline supplies or prices.
“We’ve certainly read the reports and I even gassed up on my way home, just to be safe,” the spokesman said.
A manager at the Uni-Mart on Chestnut Street shared the same type of message, noting there have been no gas shortages or price increases at the store, for the time being.
“It hasn’t affected us yet,” she added.
At Crosby Mini Mart in Lewis Run, a manager provided similar comments.
“We haven’t heard anything, and nothing has changed yet” with prices, she remarked.
A Sheetz corporate manager in Altoona said the local store on Bolivar Drive also has not been impacted by the shortage.
“As far as I know, the only areas that have been affected are more southern” with the Sheetz store locations, she stated, adding the corporation will be prepared if the shortages should move up to store locations in northern regions.
“We didn’t get this far without being able to improvise when a crisis comes along,” she remarked.
