With partly sunny skies and a high in the mid-60s expected on Saturday, it seems like a good day to check out the happenings across Mount Jewett Borough.
The Borough Wide Spring Fling & Food Truck Day, hosted by Mount Jewett Hilltop Heritage Coalition, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday all over the borough.
Activities will include yard sales, food vendors, a farmer’s market and a chicken barbecue.
Food and vendors will be set up by the Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department, and a farmer’s market will be set up across the street.
Barbecue chicken dinners will be available starting at 11 a.m. until they are sold out at the Mount Jewett Methodist Church on Boyd Street. Cost is $12 and the meal includes chicken, baked beans and macaroni salad.
Proceeds will benefit the family of Jeanie Bernard Groll.
MJ2KB Trail Club announced that it will set up a booth at the trailhead and parking lot of the Knox & Rail Trail at the corner of Center and Peterson streets. Visitors to the booth will be able to purchase a membership, and the trail club also will be selling T-shirts, walking sticks, wooden bowls, train DVDs and face masks.
