PORT ALLEGANY — The S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library is sponsoring a Tails & Tales Walking Scavenger Hunt of Port Allegany to begin SummerQuest 2021. The hunt began on Friday. Twelve businesses in Port Allegany have a picture of an animal holding a book in their window. Participants can use the walking scavenger hunt worksheet, download the free ActionBound App, or scan the QR code using a smartphone to begin the hunt. GPS coordinates downloaded into the activity in the ActionBound App help participants find the right spot. Once the animal is found, the participant can read a short synopsis of the book.
