A Port Allegany man was jailed on allegations that he sent sexual photographs of himself to someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.
Aaron D. Davis, 28, of 66 Volney St., Port Allegany, was arraigned Wednesday night before District Judge William Todd on charges of obscene and other sexual materials and open lewdness, both third-degree felonies.
According to the criminal complaint, on April 22, Bradford City Police began investigating a report that Davis had been sending messages to a 13-year-old girl that day. An officer arrived at the girl’s house, where the girl’s mother told the officer she was pretending to be the girl in the messages. An officer took the phone and began messaging Davis as if he were the 13-year-old girl.
Davis, who is already required to register as a sex offender, was messaging using the phone number that he has listed on his Megan’s Law registry, the complaint alleged. The officer also located a white pick-up truck used by Davis for his business, Davis Tree Service & Excavation, that has the same number listed on it.
In the messages, Davis admitted that he was 28 years old and said he knew the girl was only 13 or 14, the complaint stated. He allegedly made sexual comments and asked her to send nude photos of herself; also, he sent two photos and a video of his genitalia to the officer believing that it was to the girl.
Davis is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on May 19.
This is the third open Megan’s Law related case that Davis has in Pennsylvania.
He has been accused of failing to follow his Megan’s Law requirements in both McKean and Potter counties. In the McKean County case, he posted $50,000 bail on April 16 — six days before the new allegations happened. He is scheduled to appear in McKean County Court on July 1.
