The local region had 17 additional positive cases of the virus as of Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 11 more cases of COVID-19 for a total of 3,253; Elk County had one more case for 2,794; Potter County had 5 more cases for 1,064; and Cameron County stayed the same, with 287 cases.
In Pennsylvania, there were 3,686 additional positive cases, bringing the total to 1,143,076.
One additional person died in Cameron County, bringing the total to 8. McKean County has had 67 deaths due to COVID, Elk County, 38 and Potter County, 23. In the state, there were 57 new deaths as of Wednesday, for a total of 26,129.
There are 2,448 individuals in the state hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 516 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. In McKean County there are two patients hospitalized, two in Elk County and three in Potter County. None were in intensive care.
As for vaccines, McKean County had 6,890 partially covered and 7,114 fully covered; Elk, 2,454 partial and 10,369 full; Potter, 1,439 partial and 2,437 full; and Cameron, 354 partial and 1,455 full.
According to the CDC, as of Wednesday morning, Pennsylvania has administered first doses of vaccine to 48.1% of its eligible population, and the state ranks 10th among all 50 states for first doses administered by percentage of population.
Pennsylvania ranks 5th among all 50 states for total doses administered.
