DUBOIS — The Bradford boys track and field team came home with a 84-62 road win over DuBois on Tuesday, while the girls fell 82-68.
Starting with the Lady Owls, the team had two triple winners in Abbie Nuzzo and Emily Bosworth.
Nuzzo earned wins in the pole vault, triple jump and javelin, and Bosworth assisted the team’s 1600-meter and 3200-meter relay teams to victory while also picking up a victory in the 800-meter run.
Double winners included Allyson Luke, who earned wins in the shot put and discus, and Hannah Lary, who helped the 1600-meter and 3200-meter relay teams to wins.
Bradford’s winning 1600-meter relay team also consisted of Emma Swanson and Alexia Corignani, along with Lary and Bosworth, while the 3200-meter relay team also included Leila Bines and Korie Dixon.
Also earning a victory for the Lady Owls was Kayelyn Eschrich, who took home a win in the high jump (4-10).
“We were missing some athletes, but the kids who competed gave everything they had and we are very proud of them,” Bradford girls coach Larry Stillman said. “We had a lot of personal bests in many events and our field athletes won six of the seven events with our throwers continuing to dominate everyone they go against, and our jumpers showing great improvement.”
The Bradford boys started and ended the meet with a relay win.
The 3200-meter relay team earned a victory in a season-best time of 8:34.2. The team included Jerid Wilmoth, Leo Paterniti, Ian Pilon and Ryan Cottillion, while the 1600-meter relay team of Alex Liners, Pilon, Steve Morgan and Wilmoth closed the meet with a win.
Gavin McGee swept the jump events and recorded a triple jump mark of 44 feet, which is the eighth-best triple jump of all-time in program history.
Alex Liners won both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles while placing second in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet and one inch.
Wilmoth came through with a victory in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.4, while Pilon placed second in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs.
Ryan Hughes’ throw of 39 feet and four inches in the shot put was a personal best. The senior also tied for first place in the discus and came in third in the javelin.
Also earning first place finishes were Steve Morgan (400-meter dash) and Ian Paterniti (pole vault).
The team’s 400-meter relay time recorded its best time of the season in 46.1 seconds, but finished second place. That team included Jake Pattison, Gabe Mitchell, Morgan and Wilmoth.
“We scored a ton of points in the field events (38). It was a real good team effort,” Bradford boys coach Tom Tessena said. “DuBois had some really strong runners, and we were running for our life most of the time. The performances in the field events really helped.”
Both teams will be back in action next Tuesday at home against Elk County Catholic.
