Lori Birtcil Johnson, a Republican, is seeking nomination for Bradford Township supervisor in the May primary.
She is a graduate of Pitt-Bradford with a degree in business management concentration in accounting. She has over 30 years of business and accounting experiencing ranging from staff accountant, accounting manager and business manager responsibilities. She will bring oversight to the budgeting and finance aspect of the township as well as customer service and integrity.
She is also a very active member of our community serving many organizations. She is currently serving on the township’s planning commission as well as the VP of the Evergreen Elm Board and President Elect of the Kiwanis Club of Bradford where she is heavily involved in the planning of the Kiwanis Kapers and the Kiwanis Family Film Fest. Serving on various committees in the community has allowed her the opportunity to successfully work with varying personalities, ideas and views all working together to achieve the goals of the organization.
She would like to bring her skill set and experience to the township and, working with the other supervisors, instill 5 core values: Customer Focus, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Stewardship. Those core values will set the groundwork to successfully working together as a team between the township supervisors, personnel and residents.
Johnson will also work with the supervisors, personnel, and residents to put into place a ten-year plan to improve the townships infrastructure above ground and below ground. In doing so, she and the other supervisors will lead the development of an asset management program, a maintenance program, and a safety and accident prevention program. Having a sound plan in place will alleviate any tensions and disagreements because everyone will be working towards the same goal. It will also allow the township to plan and budget more efficiently thus saving monies in the long run. She will also foster open communication with the community by live streaming every meeting and offering a coffee chat one Saturday a month to allow residents to freely share their thoughts, ideas and opinions with supervisors in a non-structured environment.
She has lived in Bradford Township for over 50 years. She and her husband Troy raised their children in Bradford Township and reside on Minard Run Road.
