There were six more cases of COVID-19 in the region as of Monday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had two more cases for 3,360 total; Elk County had three more cases for 2,743; Potter County had one more case for 1,023; and Cameron County’s case count remained at 286.
The health department indicated that there were 1,914 additional positive cases of COVID-19, in addition to 3,761 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 5,675 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,109,291.
As for vaccinations, McKean County has had 4,463 people partially covered and 6,346 fully covered; Elk County has had 2,498 partially covered and 9,817 fully covered; Potter County has had 687 partially covered and 1,941 fully covered; and Cameron County, 429 partially covered and 1,316 fully covered.
In Pennsylvania, there have been 4,369,833 partially vaccinated, and 2,772,009 fully vaccinated. The state has a seven-day moving average of more than 97,100 people vaccinated each day.
As of Monday, there were 2,638 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. Of that number, 551 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. In McKean County, there were two patients hospitalized with COVID-19, four in Elk County and three in Potter County.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 3,600 lower than it was at the peak on Dec. 25, 2020. The current 14-day average is also below what it was at the height of the spring peak on May 3, 2020. However, the moving average of the number of hospitalized patients has started to increase.
According to the Pennsylvania death registry, a total of 25,690 deaths to date have been attributed to COVID-19. McKean County has had 66 deaths, Elk, 38, Potter, 23, and Cameron, 7.
