BIRTH MONTH FLOWERS: April’s birth flowers are the daisy and the sweet pea.
The daisy conveys innocence, loyal love, and purity. In an interesting twist, it also is the flower that, when given as a gift to a friend, promises a secret kept.
The other April flower is the sweet pea. They have a lovely fragrance and are typically used to signify a moment of goodbye.
Flies are said to be deterred by the sweet pea’s fragrance, providing a fly-free atmosphere for those who grow them and later enjoy their fragrance in a vase indoors.
Other birth flowers by month include:
May — lily of the valley & hawthorne; June — rose & honeysuckle
July — larkspur & water lily; August — gladiolus & poppy
September — aster & morning glory; October — marigold & cosmos
November — chrysanthemum; December — narcissus & holly
January — carnation & snowdrop
February — violet & primrose; March — daffodil & jonquil

SOCIAL MEDIA SUCCESS: PRFire.com recently conducted a survey of 2,600 adults age 18-24, and they found that opinions are varied on what “success” is on social media, but that schools are lacking in a very important element of education these days — the dangers of social media.
A quarter (24%) of respondents say they would only need to gain 5K followers in order to feel successful on social media, whereas 16% say they would need 10K followers to feel this success. Another 7% said they would need 50K followers; 24% would want 100K followers; 11% would need 500K and 18% aspire to achieve celebrity status with 1 million followers.
Lastly, three-quarters (75%) think schools should offer classes on the dangers of social media. This does make a lot of sense, particularly when you consider how many young children are making use of technology in their day-to-day life (such as for online learning and watching videos).
