A Bradford man who police say was a fugitive from justice was arrested Wednesday in Allegany, N.Y.

Olean, N.Y.- based state police reported on Friday that they arrested Andrew Kroah, 23, in Allegany on a warrant.

According to police, troopers realized during a traffic stop on Interstate 86 that there was an outstanding bench warrant for Kroah out of McKean County. Troopers arrested him, and he was arraigned in Allegany Town Court.

Kroah was committed to Cattaraugus County (N.Y.) Jail without bail while he waited for extradition, police stated.

McKean County Court records indicate that he was committed to McKean County Jail on Thursday.

Police did not provide the reason for the warrant.

According to court records, Kroah has two pending cases in McKean County Court: one case in which he’s charged with possessing metal knuckles and baggies of marijuana; and a second case in which he’s charged with possessing a controlled substance.

Court records indicate that Kroah did not appear for a March 22 preliminary hearing in one of the cases, and a bench warrant was issued at that time.

A last-day-to-plea conference in the metal knuckles case is set for Thursday.
