SMETHPORT — The McKean County Conservation District is sponsoring a poster contest for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
The theme for posters is “Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities.”
There are different grade divisions: K-1; 2-3; 4-6; 7-9; 10-12. Prizes will be awarded for winners in each division. The Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group (AHUG) is a supporting partner for this contest and a prize sponsor.
This local contest is a qualifier for entries to move to the state level, and potentially national level poster competition. These are sponsored by the PA Association of Conservation Districts and the National Association of Conservation Districts. The overall winner at each grade division will have the opportunity to advance.
Posters can be submitted in person or digitally to the Conservation District office in Smethport. Deadline for entries is Friday, May 14, 2021 by 4:30 pm.
