LEWIS RUN — A cruelty to animals complaint at a residence on U.S. Route 219 in Hamlin Township last month resulted in the removal of 42 dogs and one cat from the residence.
In a press release issued Sunday, Lewis Run-based state police said on March 16, they were dispatched to a welfare check at a Hamlin Township residence. Inside, the animals were found in poor living conditions, police said.
Assisting on the scene was the McKean County SPCA, which removed the animals from the home. The incident is open pending further investigation.
