There were an additional 30 cases of COVID-19 in the local region over the weekend, as reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Sunday.
McKean County had 14 more, for a total of 3,255; Elk County had 12 more for 2,683; Potter County had 4 more for a total of 1,009; and Cameron County stayed at 283.
Statewide, there were an additional 4,882 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 1,068,974.
Regarding vaccines, McKean County had 4,321 partially vaccinated residents, with 4,954 fully covered; Elk County, 2,705 partial and 8,859 full; Potter County, 788 partial and 1,689 full; and Cameron County, 494 partial and 1,159 full.
Pennsylvania as a whole has 3,847,164 partially vaccinated residents, with 2,208,680 fully vaccinated. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as of Saturday morning, Pennsylvania ranked 6th among all 50 states for total doses administered.
As of Sunday, statewide, there were 2,460 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, 516 of which were in the intensive care unit and 254 on ventilators.
According to a press release from the department of health, the trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients for day is roughly 3,900 lower than it was at the peak on Dec. 25, 2020. The current 14-day average is also below what it was at the height of the spring peak on May 3, 2020, although the moving average of the number of hospitalized patients has started to increase.
McKean and Elk counties had two patients hospitalized, while Potter County had none.
Pennsylvania has had 25,405 deaths attributed to COVID-19. McKean County has reported 66 deaths; Elk, 37; Potter, 22; and Cameron, 7.
