A Bradford man accused of kidnapping and raping a female is one of several people who appeared for preliminary hearings Wednesday in McKean County.

David M. Everly, 25, of Bradford, had all charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before District Judge Richard Luther.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 26, a Foster Township police officer was dispatched to do a welfare check at a camper. There, the officer found a female who Everly had been holding against her will for a couple of months.

During that time, Everly had allegedly assaulted her several times and forced her to have sex with him. He threatened to burn her family’s house with everyone in it if she tried to leave or refused to have sex with him, the criminal complaint stated.

He would break her phones, and at one point he drove her into the woods and threatened to kill her if she tried to leave again, the complaint alleged.

Court records stated that the female watched Everly use methamphetamine and cocaine on numerous occasions, and when police searched the camper, they seized suspected cocaine, a suspected meth pipe, a Mason jar with spoons that had burnt residue on them, a tin with a bag containing white residue and a pair of underwear.

There were a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old who were at the scene when police arrived and who had been inside the camper, the complaint stated.

Everly is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Also on Wednesday, Tyler L. Prescott, 28, had all charges against him bound to court at a hearing before District Judge Dominic Cercone.

Prescott is facing allegations that he caused nearly fatal injuries to an 18-month-old child.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 3, Prescott was watching the child while the mother was at work. The child was napping when she returned home, and when she checked on the child that evening, she found the child’s head to be swollen, both eyes swollen shut and several bruises around the child’s head and neck, the complaint stated.

At one point when the mother was working out how to get medical treatment for the child, Prescott took all the phones and would not let anyone call for help; he refused to let her leave the room, too, court records indicated.

When the pair finally took the child for treatment, medical professionals determined the child had suffered injuries included a basal skull fracture, fractured right ulna and bruising around the head and neck of the child. The injuries were deemed near fatal by medical staff at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., the complaint stated.

Prescott is in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Robert B. Fyfe, 66, of Bradford, waived a preliminary hearing before Cercone for 100 felony counts of child pornography and a charge of criminal use of a communication facility.

In March, Bradford City Police obtained a search warrant for Fyfe’s residence and found at least 1,000 images of child photography, according to the criminal complaint. Fyfe told police that he had been collecting the images for about 10 years.

Fyfe is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Brian M. Stahl, 37, of Bradford, had charges against him bound to court at a hearing before Cercone.

The criminal complaint alleged that Stahl, who was driving a U-Haul box truck, struck the PNC Bank drive-thru canopy with the truck, got out of the truck, obtained money from the ATM, then drove away.

An officer found the U-Haul parked in Stahl’s driveway, and Stahl admitted to the officer that he was driving when the truck struck the bank’s canopy, court records stated. Police searched the truck, as well as a backpack that was sitting next to the truck.

In the box truck, police found a clear plastic bag with methamphetamine residue, a glass pipe with meth residue, a tin containing THC brownies and marijuana grinder, a butane burner, a pellet gun, a large fixed blade knife and $540 in cash, according to the complaint.

In the backpack, they found two pipes with marijuana residue, 100+ clear plastic bags typically used for narcotic distribution, a glass container that contained meth, a clear bag containing meth, a vape pen with suspected THC oil and a cell phone, court records stated.

Stahl is free, having posted $25,000 bail.
