RIDGWAY — An early morning fire Friday in a Highland Township camp has been ruled arson.
According to Ridgway-based state police, a fire was reported at 12:05 a.m. Friday in the area of Weikal Lane and Pigs Ear Road, Highland Township. No one was injured in the blaze, but a one-story camp was destroyed. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and Highland Township Fire Department investigated the fire and determined that it originated in the interior of the camp and was incendiary in nature, state police reported.
Police indicated that the owner of the camp is unknown.
