DANCE: We’ve learned some news that we just have to share. The super popular television show Dancing with the Stars has decided to do community auditions for a special series they plan for this fall.
Bradford’s turn for cutting the rug will be coming at the end of April. We hear they’ve selected some representatives of the city already — Mayor James McDonald and Rose Bogdan, assistant manager of Arby’s, as two of the contestants.
They’ll be searching for some additional representatives soon, and will be looking for some fire fighters, police officers, heads of corporations and the like. So if you’ve got the moves like Jagger, consider turning out for the challenge.
Mayor McDonald’s tryout was to “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” the fast-paced Ricky Martin hit. We hear he practiced at City Hall, watching the music video and getting his groove on to try to do Bradford proud.
We hear that Rose’s tryout was to the Harry Belafonte classic “Day-O (The Banana Boat song).” We’ve seen her moves here in the newsroom and think she’ll go far. This will be a season to watch, for sure.
