On Good Friday this year B-Free Church will be presenting a special Service of Shadows written by Beth Lenaway.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the church located at 18 Boylston St., Bradford.
To commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus, Lenaway created a service that combines scripture, dramatic readings, and inspiring songs. Many area residents will remember that Lenaway also wrote the popular musical drama “Mary, the Story of Jesus Through His Mother’s Eyes” which she performed across the country from 1996 to 2006.
Lenaway commented, “I wanted to capture the somber and serious tone that is evoked from reading the gospel accounts of the punishment and death of Jesus. Combining this with traditional and contemporary songs helps all of us remember the sacrifice our Lord made for us. We then can look forward to the resurrection celebration on Easter morning.”
Her husband, Jim, is the pastor at B-Free Church which will also be conducting a sunrise service at 7 a.m., breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
