Bradford man is in McKean County Jail on allegations that he kept a woman against her will and sexually assaulted her.
Foster Township Police released some details about the alleged incident. While police did not release the name of the man charged, there is a case docket for David M. Everly, 25, filed on Friday that matches the information.
Court records indicate that Everly was arraigned before District Judge David Engman on the following charges: kidnapping to inflict bodily injury/terrorize the victim and rape-threat of forcible compulsion, first-degree felonies; sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault-threat of forcible compulsion, second-degree felonies; two counts of endangering the welfare of children, third-degree felonies; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; two counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
According to police, on Friday, officers were called to do a welfare check on Garlock Hollow for an 18-year-old woman. When they spoke to the woman, they learned that a man had been holding her against her will. While he was holding her, the man threatened the woman and her family several times, and he sexually assaulted her, threatening her life if she resisted, police allege.
Police learned that the man was living in a camper, and they obtained a search warrant for the camper. Law enforcement officials seized several drugs and items of drug paraphernalia in the camper. Two young children had also been inside the trailer while the drugs were there, according to police.
McKean County Children and Youth Services responded, and the children were put in the custody of their mother, police stated.
Everly is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for April 7.
