A Bradford man accused of firing a revolver near another man due to a bad drug deal had all charges against him bound to McKean County Court.
Court records indicate that Daniel J. Roach, 45, appeared for a preliminary hearing Tuesday before District Judge William Todd.
Roach is charged with aggravated assault-attempts to cause or causes bodily injury with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm with the manufacturer number altered, second-degree felonies; conspiracy-drug delivery, a felony; discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, firearms not to be carried without a license, criminal use of a communication facility and two counts of terroristic threats, third-degree felonies; and two counts of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors.
The charges were filed after law enforcement officials investigated a report of a shooting Oct. 4 in Eldred. A neighbor reported hearing gunshots near Apt. 2B, Cris Drive, but officials have not indicated that they’ve found evidence that anyone was shot.
According to the criminal complaint, Roach told police that went to the apartment to buy one pound of methamphetamine in exchange for $10,000. He said the deal was made through Facebook Messenger. However, Roach said that “they tried to rob him,” the complaint stated.
Roach allegedly fired two shots toward Anthony Reynolds and told him he was going to kill him. He also put the revolver up to Brittany Mitchell’s head at one point, too, court records stated.
The gun was a Victor revolver with the serial number altered, according to the complaint.
Reynolds, Mitchell and Douglas Walczak are all facing robbery and drug charges related to the alleged drug deal. The criminal complaint against Mitchell alleges that they were going to give Roach fake meth in exchange for $10,000.
All three are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing March 30.
Roach is incarcerated in lieu of $75,000 in this case. However, there are at least seven pending cases against him, including six in McKean County and one in Venango County.
Among the allegations against Roach are that he ran a meth operation, raped a child, had a minor hold onto a firearm for him, threatened Children and Youth Services employees and law enforcement officials, tried to deliver meth to minors in a residential/counseling facility, made a hole in the jail fence to try to escape and drove under the influence of a controlled substance.
