Volker Kiefer, 56, the canine officer for Emporium Borough Police, has been sent to jail on 11 felony counts of child pornography.
Kiefer was arraigned Wednesday night before Elk County District Judge Mark Jacob and remanded to jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The charges were filed by the state attorney general’s office.
Kiefer is also charged with one count of criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony.
