Officials with UPMC Kane are reminding residents to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine online.
UPMC Kane has held several vaccine clinics, and another will be held Thursday. All are by appointment-only.
Lisa Keck, director of the Kane Community Hospital Foundation, said, “To date we have held four community vaccine events to administer first doses at the Kane fire hall. We will be holding a fifth event this Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.”
It’s by appointment only, and people signed up on the UPMC waiting list are called for those appointments.
“To date we have administered almost 900 first doses to the community via these events,” Keck said.
Here’s how to get on the list.
The quickest and easiest way to sign up is online at vaccine.upmc.com
If you do not have access, a family member or trusted friend can quickly register you through the online form. If you are unable to register online, call 844-876-2822.
If your first dose was not given by UPMC, you must return to where you received the first vaccine in order to get your second dose. To find out if you are eligible to receive the vaccine, go to covidportal.health.pa.gov/s/Your-Turn
As vaccines become available, UPMC will contact those registered to prepare for and schedule an appointment.
