SMETHPORT — A Bradford man was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court for allegations he possessed methamphetamine and crack in order to sell them, and made threats over the phone.
Tony J. McCormick, 32, of Bradford, will serve six to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail with credit for 191 days of time served for charges in two cases: possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, and harassment charges in the second case.
McCormick pleaded guilty Jan. 7 in one case to allegations he possessed with the intent to deliver about 3.34 grams of methamphetamine and 3.2 grams of crack, as well as multiple items of drug paraphernalia. In the other case, he made various threats or said alarming words over the phone.
Also in court, Shawn E. Schlopy Jr., 18, of Bradford, received a sentence of five months and three days to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail, followed by six months of probation, for two cases.
In one case he is charged with disseminating explicit materials, in the other he was accused of violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order in which he was required to have no contact with the victim. As part of his sentence he is not allowed to make any mention of the victim in electronic communications. Court records filed at the time of Schlopy’s arrest alleged that he was harassing his 14-year-old ex-girlfriend on social media, creating fake accounts in his name, her name and other names, sending degrading messages to her and sharing nude photos of her.
Joshua S. Gehring, 29, of Auburn, N.Y., was sentenced to seven days to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail with credit for seven days of time served for charges of terroristic threats. Court records filed at the time of his arrest in September 2019 alleged that he went to the MICA Unit at Bradford Regional Medical Center for treatment for addiction issues and threatened to kill several medical professionals who were trying to treat him.
Jesse E. Fye, 31, of Lucinda, will serve five years of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for a charge of DUI-controlled substance.
Seth A. James, 23, of Bradford, will serve one year of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of firearm not to be carried without a license, DUI-marijuana and a summary charge. James pleaded guilty Jan. 21 that on Oct. 13 he had a firearm concealed in his vehicle while not having a license to carry a firearm.
Krichtain E. Swanson, 22, of Sheffield, will serve one year of probation for a charge of firearm not to be carried without a license. On Jan. 21, Swanson pleaded guilty to allegations that on July 12 he carried a firearm and ammunition in a vehicle; he was eligible for a license to possess a firearm but did not have a license.
Jonathan M. Sadlowski, 31, of Kane, will serve two years of probation with a term of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI-general impairment, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a controlled substance and summary charges. Court records filed at the time of his arrest alleged that Sadlowski, while under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, led several police officers on a high-speed chase.
Brion K. Brown, 48, of Osceola Mills, was sentenced to 90 days to six months in McKean County Jail with credit for 112 days of time served for charges of DUI-general impairment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jesse J. Vawter, 28, of Olean, N.Y., was sentenced to six days to six months in McKean County Jail with credit for six days of time served for charges of DUI-general impairment and summary charges.
Brianna Hart, 23, of Gifford, will serve nine months of probation for a charge of statement under penalty. On Jan. 7, Hart pleaded guilty to allegations that on July 22, she provided a false written statement to police officers who were investigating rape allegations.
Tyler E. Sutton, 33, of Tidioute, will serve five days to six months in McKean County Jail for a charge of incapable of safely operating watercraft after imbibing alcohol or refusal of test.
Walter S. Langsford, 55, of Port Allegany, will serve six months of probation with a term of restrictive sanctions for a charge of DUI-general impairment.
Michael S. McKendrick, 37, of DuBois, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy-retail theft. He will serve one month to one year of incarceration. According to Assistant District Attorney Bridget Murphy, on Dec. 13, 2019, McKendrick conspired with others to cause to be carried from Walmart merchandise valued at $439.
Ray P. Ross, 37, of Clearfield, will serve 18 months of probation for a charge of retail theft.
Robert W. Gault, 33, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation for a charge of simple assault. Gault pleaded guilty Jan. 21 to allegations that on Sept. 30, he struck a female and shoved her against a wall, causing her lip to bleed and minor swelling.
Chad C. Kirk, 44, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for a charge of DUI-alcohol.
Joshua M. Elliott, 35, of Eldred, will serve one year of probation for a charge of retail theft.
Leon C. Cobb Jr., 62, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation for a charge of DUI-controlled substance.
Charles E. Harpster Jr., 64, of Lewis Run, will serve six months of probation for a charge of DUI-general impairment.
Timothy A. Smith, 39, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation for a charge of DUI-general impairment.
Several people were also sentenced on other days in recent weeks, court records indicate.
Ryan S. Thomas, 39, of Bradford, will serve six to 18 months of incarceration with credit for 109 days of time served and 18 months of consecutive probation for a charge of possession of firearm prohibited and a summary charge. On Jan. 7, Thomas pleaded guilty to allegations that on Nov. 9, he possessed a firearm, despite a previous conviction that precluded him from doing so, and he threatened a female.
Michael D. Rose-Unger, 33, of Bradford, will serve four months to one year in McKean County Jail with credit for 126 days of time served and one year of consecutive probation for charges of interference with the custody of children and obstruction of the administration of law or other government function. Court records filed at the time of his arrest alleged that he hid a child in Erie from McKean County Children and Youth Services and told officials that the child was staying with a woman in Warren, but the child was not there.
Jessica L. Weikel, 32, of Smethport, was sentenced to three to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit of time served of 96 days for a charge of simple assault. Weikel pleaded guilty Jan. 21 to allegations that on Oct. 19, while an inmate at the McKean County Jail, she attempted to cause or caused injury to another inmate.
Robin F. Wilson, 51, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation for a charge of DUI-alcohol.
