The United Way of the Bradford Area Inc. will host a “Totes of Hope” collection drive during the month of March.
Totes of Hope is an American Red Cross-driven program that aims to collect new and never used items that are then packaged into care kits and distributed to veterans of all generations who are homeless, transitioning into housing or whose quality of life is at risk.
The UWBA and Pennsylvania American Red Cross are seeking items that include but are not limited to: full size toiletries, clothing such as socks, hats, and gloves, shower/bathroom items, laundry items, throw blankets and entertainment items including crossword puzzles, playing cards and word searches. Items collected by the UWBA will then be disbursed locally and across the state of Pennsylvania by the American Red Cross.
For those interested in donating, totes can be found at the UWBA office, Save-A-Lot, Bradford YMCA, Anytime Fitness, Bradford Regional Medical Center and Bradford Area High School. Totes will also be located in Smethport at Hamlin Memorial Library and Costa’s Supermarket and in Port Allegany at S.W. Smith Memorial Library and Shop-N-Save.
