There were 22 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the region as of Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 10 additional cases for a total of 3,020 — 2,279 confirmed and 741 probable, with 9,597 negative tests.
Elk County had four more cases for a total of 2,304 — 1,223 confirmed, 1,081 probable and 5,432 negative tests.
Potter County had eight additional cases for a total of 912 — 811 confirmed, 101 probable and 3,106 negative tests.
Cameron County’s case count did not change from 256.
There were four additional cases in Bradford for 973 confirmed and 165 probable; one in Kane for 290 confirmed and 82 probable; two in Port Allegany for 197 confirmed and 28 probable; and the remainder in Eldred, for 132 confirmed and 28 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had three additional cases for 550 confirmed and 468 probable; and one more in Ridgway for 270 confirmed and 178 probable.
In Potter County, two more cases were in Coudersport at 333 confirmed and 38 probable; and the remaining in Shinglehouse for 149 confirmed and 31 probable.
As for vaccines, as of Tuesday, McKean County had administered 1,744 first doses and 1,898 second doses, according to the health department.
In Elk County, 3,462 first doses and 3,481 second doses were given.
There was no indication of how more second doses were given than first doses.
Potter County had 518 first doses and 449 second doses given, while Cameron County had 875 first and 308 second.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed there were 2,830 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the state as of Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 917,848.
There are 1,963 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 418 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. In McKean County, one patient was hospitalized with COVID-19, none in Elk County and one in Potter County.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 3,700 lower than it was at the peak on Dec. 25, 2020. However, the current 14-day average is just below what it was at the height of the spring peak on May 3, 2020.
As of Tuesday, there were 97 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 23,711 deaths attributed to COVID-19. There were no new deaths locally.
In licensed nursing and personal care homes, there are 66,173 resident cases of COVID-19, and 12,838 cases among employees, for a total of 79,011 at 1,568 distinct facilities in all 67 counties.
Nine long-term care facilities in McKean County reported 373 cases among residents, 110 among staff and 47 deaths. Three facilities in Elk County reported 122 cases among residents, 50 among staff and eight deaths. Three facilities in Potter County reported 45 cases among residents, 15 among staff and three deaths. One facility in Cameron County reported 36 cases among residents, 10 among staff and two deaths.
