For the Patriotic Art contest , students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate. The student does not have to be related to a VFW member to be eligible but must attend school in the state of entry. The entry must be completed in the current school year. Monetary awards are won at different levels for winning entry.
The Illustrating America contest is open to students in grades 1-8. Entries will be judged on the patriotic theme and technique. www.vfwauxiliary.org/resources/.
Youth are also invited to get excited for the Red, White and Blue singing contest, which is open to youth ages 6-16. Participants are to enter a solo vocal performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” that must be recorded between July 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021. Video must be saved to a DVD, flash drive or uploaded to an online video platform.
