There were 15 new cases of COVID-19 in two local counties as of Thursday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
McKean County had 7 additional cases of COVID-19 on Thursday for a total of 2,981 — 2,254 confirmed, 727 probable and 9,506 negative tests. Three of the cases were in Bradford, for 962 confirmed and 161 probable; while the others appeared to be in Smethport, at 287 confirmed and 39 probable; and in Kane, for 290 confirmed and 81 probable.
Elk County had 8 additional cases for a total of 2,281 — 1,215 confirmed, 1,066 probable and 5,373 negative tests. Four additional cases were in St. Marys, for 546 confirmed and 462 probable; two in Ridgway, 269 confirmed, 176 probable; and two in Weedville, for 65 confirmed and 41 probable.
Potter and Cameron counties had no change, at 891 and 253 cases, respectively.
As for vaccines, 1,876 first doses had been administered in McKean County, and 1,398 second doses; in Elk County, 4,112 first doses and 2,114 second doses; in Potter County, 482 first and 380 second; and in Cameron County, 846 first doses and 224 second doses.
As for hospitalizations due to COVID-19, there were two in McKean County, none in Elk County and two in Potter County.
The total number of cases to date in Pennsylvania as of Thursday was 905,995, with 3,799,916 negative tests. The total number of PCR tests to date was 9,991,280.
There have been 23,413 deaths to date in Pennsylvania.
