Bradford man accused of using debit card
A Bradford man is facing allegations that he used someone else’s debit card to get more than $900.
Daniel J. Colella, 34, of 33 Miller St., was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Dominic Cercone on charges of access device fraud, a third-degree felony; theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, first-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:18 p.m. Jan. 13, Bradford City Police were dispatched to Kane Street for a report of a stolen credit card. There, the alleged victim related that Colella took her debit card and took all of her money off of the account without permission.
A witness told the alleged victim that Colella was at the Uni-Mart on Chestnut Street going back and forth between the ATM to the slot machine, court records indicated. Video footage allegedly showed Colella going back and forth between the two machines 11 times.
Police obtained bank statements showing that Colella made transactions at the Chestnut Street Uni-Mart and at Northwest Bank ATMs on Main Street and West Washington Street. Colella obtained $930.25 from the account and overcharged the account for $21.75, bringing the total amount of money taken without the victim’s permission to $952, the complaint stated.
Colella’s bail is set at $5,000 unsecured, and a preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.

Bradford man facing assault allegations
A Bradford man is facing allegations that he assaulted another man, causing a broken nose and loss of a tooth.
Johnny W. Krouse Jr., 26, of 7 Pike St., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone on charges of simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and harassment, a summary charge.
The criminal complaint states that at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 24, a male entered the front lobby of the Bradford City Police Station. “The male was beating on the front door and was bleeding from his face,” the complaint stated.
The male told an officer that Krouse just beat him up. The officer could see that the male’s nose was injured, and a tooth fell out of the male’s mouth as he was talking to the officer, according to the complaint.
When questioned by police, Krouse said the male was hurt because he fell down the steps while high on acid. The officer told Krouse the alleged victim said Krouse beat him up, and Krouse again said that the male had fallen, the court records indicated.
At 12:50 a.m. Nov. 25, police went to Bradford Regional Medical Center, where the male was being treated for his injuries. The male’s girlfriend said she saw Krouse “wailing on” the male, the complaint stated.
The officer then talked to male again, and he explained that, earlier in the day on Nov. 24, he discovered money was missing from his wallet, and he believed it was someone from Krouse’s home who took it. That evening, Krouse began asking the male why he didn’t believe that Krouse did not take the money; Krouse then began punching the male in the face and ribs, according to court records.
Krouse is free on $5,000 unsecured bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for March 10.
