Police investigating theft of SUV in Smethport

LEWIS RUN — Lewis Run-based state police are investigating the theft of a sport utility vehicle that occurred between Saturday and Sunday in Smethport Borough.

According to police, someone took a 2005 GMC Envoy with registration LFL8617 from East Water Street sometime between 4 p.m. Saturday and 8:16 a.m. Sunday. The SUV belongs to a 52-year-old Smethport man.

A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) was issued for law enforcement for the SUV.

The investigation continues. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to contact Lewis Run-based state police at 814-368-9230.
