One firefighter sustained minor injury due to weather during a fire at Kane Hardwoods Thursday morning.

According to reports, departments were dispatched at 4:51 a.m. for a commercial structure fire. Crews were on scene for approximately three hours and kept the fire contained to the sawdust conveyor system.

The firefighter was injured due to a fall in icy conditions and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Kane Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Wilcox, Mount Jewett, Sheffield and Ludlow volunteer fire departments.
