LOVE: Judy Peterson has submitted a few poems in honor of the upcoming holiday. Feb. 14 is known to be for lovers, and Peterson’s poems highlight that romantic connection.
To the One I Love
Sometimes I have a hard time
Saying what’s on my mind.
But I know you and I
Have got plenty of time.
Time to love each other
And time for you to see
That my love for you is as deep
As your love is for me.
At first I was so afraid
Of falling in love with you.
But you came to me and showed me
How much our love can do.
It scares me to think that someday
You may not be around.
But I feel that for both of us
Our love is firmly planted in the ground…
And it will grow.

Silent Love
Falling in love is something
I swore I would never do.
“Never again” I always said
And then there was you.
You came into my life a friend
And that you will always be.
Now I know I fell too hard
But how do you feel about me?
I guess I’ll never know
Because I’ll never tell you
But my feelings will never change
And that you can count on too.

Explore
Explore.
Find my thoughts
And feelings.
Find me.
Explore.
Tell me where
My mind is.
Where am I?
Explore.
The possibilities
Of my life.
Of life with you.
Explore.
Find our love.
We will have
Endless bliss.

TODAY: Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. That makes it a great day to talk to kids about the amazing careers they can pursue, from astronomy to zoology and anything in between.
On a humorous note, it is also National Guitar Day and Don’t Cry over spilled milk day.
