SMETHPORT (EC) — The McKean County Commissioners have proclaimed February as Career and Technical Education Month in the county.
The proclamation, which commissioners approved Tuesday at their regularly scheduled meeting, states that “a commitment to career and technical education helps to ensure that McKean County has a strong, well-trained workforce that embraces productivity in business and industry and solidifies the county’s leadership in the marketplace.
Providing our citizens with career and technical education can stimulate the growth and vitality of businesses and industries by preparing workers for the occupations forecasted to experience the largest and fastest growth in the next decade, according to the proclamation.
Pennsylvania observes Career and Technical Education Month annually to promote these careers of skills and interests for our citizens.
