SMETHPORT — A Smethport man accused of a variety of crimes including assault and theft pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to charges in five cases.

Shawn M. Cabisca, 29, entered the plea to these charges: theft from a motor vehicle in one case; simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and defiant trespass in another case; disorderly conduct in a third case; and summary harassment in two cases.

According to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade, on April 6, 2019, Cabisca struck and kicked a female, and he struck the same female in the face on May 19, 2019. On Sept. 3, 2019, he was found running in and out of traffic on Euclid Avenue, Bradford, while he was under the influence of methamphetamine. On Nov. 4, 2019, Cabisca possessed drug paraphernalia and punched a man in the head, causing a bleeding wound, and between Dec. 24-25, 2019, he stole a pistol valued at more than $200.

Cabisca will be sentenced March 18.

Also in court, Ryan S. Thomas, 39, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of firearm prohibited and a summary charge. On Nov. 9, Thomas threatened a female and unlawfully possessed a firearm despite being prohibited from doing so, according to Shade. He will be sentenced Feb. 25.

Todd H. Stahli, 25, of Wilcox, pleaded guilty to charges of resisting arrest and loitering and prowling at nighttime. On Nov. 14, Stahli was loitering at a High Street, Mount Jewett, property, and he resisted arrest to the point that a state trooper had to use a Taser twice on him, said Shade. He will be sentenced March 18. Meanwhile, Stahli asked for a jury trial in a second case in which he’s charged with burglary and terroristic threats.

James M. Fries III, 29, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to fleeing or attempting to elude an officer. On Oct. 17, Bradford City Police tried to pull over Fries, who was driving through Bradford on an all-terrain vehicle, but he refused to stop, according to Shade. He will be sentenced March 18.

Megan N. Sena, 23, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in two cases: unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in one case and charges of DUI-controlled substance and a summary charge in the other. On July 30, Sena operated a vehicle without consent from the owner, and on Sept. 3, she drove with metabolites of marijuana in her system, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer. Sena will be sentenced March 18.

Zachary M. Koch, 22, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief. On June 28, Koch stole a four-wheeler valued at approximately $1,265 and intentionally damaged it, causing a loss of about $662.39, said Assistant District Attorney Bridget Murphy. He will be sentenced March 18.

Robert A. Williams, 22, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a summary charge. According to Shade, on Sept. 26, Williams broke into a private parking lot and drove one of the vehicles there without consent of the owner. He will be sentenced March 18.

Michael R. Kozak III, pleaded guilty to a charge of firearms not to be carried without a license and summary charges; he will serve a probation term for the firearms charge. Shade said that he had a concealed firearm but did not have a conceal and carry permit. Also in that case, Kosak was accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana, as well as DUI-controlled substance.

Also accepted into the ARD Program are Trevor A. Dowell, 24, of Eldred, for DUI-alcohol and a controlled substance; Tiffany Burgess, 39, of Bradford, and Yvonne M. Moonan, 39, of Bradford, both for DUI-alcohol.
