The region saw a small increase in cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
There were eight more cases of COVID-19 in McKean County for a total of 2,790 — 2,102 confirmed and 688 probable, with 9,140 negative tests. There have been 58 deaths.
Elk County had six more cases for a total of 2,165 —1,160 confirmed, 1,005 probable and 5,090 negative tests. There have been 33 deaths.
Potter County had one additional case for 836 total — 745 confirmed, 91 probable and 2,923 negative tests. There have been 20 deaths.
There was no change in Cameron County, where there have been 244 cases and seven deaths.
As of Wednesday, there were 143 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 21,955 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed on Wednesday that there were 3,128 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 853,616.
In Bradford, there were four additional cases of COVID-19, for 892 confirmed and 148 probable; one more in Port Allegany for 177 confirmed and 18 probable; and one more case in Rixford for 31 confirmed, 6 probable.
In Elk County, there were four additional cases in St. Marys for 522 confirmed and 435 probable; one in Ridgway for 256 confirmed and 160 probable; and Kersey was up to 79 confirmed and 99 probable.
The additional case in Potter County was reported in Shinglehouse, for a total of 130 confirmed and 23 probable.
As of Wednesday, there were 3,281 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 669 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19 across Pennsylvania, according to the health department.
In McKean County, there were six patients hospitalized, two in intensive care; in Elk, three were hospitalized; and in Potter, six were hospitalized, one in intensive care.
Nine long-term care facilities in McKean County reported 368 cases of COVID-19 among residents, 107 among staff and 47 deaths. Three in Elk County reported 119 among residents, 50 among staff and seven deaths. Three in Potter County reported 39 cases among residents, 15 among staff and three deaths. One in Cameron County reported 36 cases among residents, 10 among staff and two deaths.
