A Kane man is in McKean County Jail on multiple charges alleging rape of a child.
Jeffrey Jon Vito, 49, of 229 Beech St., Kane, is charged with two counts each of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault more than 11 years older than the victim, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child less than 16 and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child, all first-degree felonies; four counts of sexual assault and four counts of incest of a minor under 13, all second-degree felonies; one count each of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree felonies; four counts each of indecent assault without consent and of indecent assault of a victim under 16, all second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, between 2010 and 2015, Vito had repeated sexual contact with a juvenile. The victim reported the sexual assaults to a Kane Borough Police officer, who notified the state police. When state police interviewed Vito, he admitted to the allegations, the complaint alleged.
Vito was arraigned before District Judge David Engman and remanded to jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 4.
