With a note that Thursday’s count may include backlogged antigen testing data, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 39 new COVID-19 cases for the region.
There were 22 additional cases noted for McKean County, for a total of 2,679 — 1,992 confirmed, 687 probable and 8,931 negative tests. There have been 57 deaths.
There were 15 new cases in Elk County, for a total of 2,103 — 1,141 confirmed, 962 probable and 4,991 negative tests. There have been 33 deaths.
In Potter County, there were two additional cases for a total of 809 — 714 confirmed, 95 probable and 2,854 negative tests. There was one additional death, for a total of 19.
Cameron County’s case count did not change; it stands at 237 with seven deaths.
As of Thursday, there were 198 new deaths reported for a total of 21,303 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
The Department of Health indicated there were 6,036 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 824,405. Of those, 1,214 cases had their specimens collected over a week ago.
There were 12 additional cases in Bradford for a total of 822 confirmed and 159 probable; Lewis Run, one more, 90 confirmed, 326 probable; Kane, two more, 277 confirmed, 71 probable; Eldred, one more, 115 confirmed, 19 probable; Smethport, two more, 271 confirmed, 34 probable; Port Allegany, two more, 170 confirmed, 15 probable; Cyclone, one more, 18 confirmed, 8 probable; Ludlow was up to 8 confirmed cases, with 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 10 additional cases for 517 confirmed and 409 probable;
Johnsonburg, one more case, 117 confirmed, 68 probable; Ridgway, 3 more, 251 confirmed, 157 probable; and Kersey was at 77 confirmed and 95 probable.
The additional Potter County cases appeared to be in Galeton, where the case count was 61 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
According to the health department, there were 3,768 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 759 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. McKean County had six patients hospitalized, two in intensive care. Potter County had four hospitalized. Elk County had one patient hospitalized.
In nursing and personal care homes, there were 62,483 resident cases of COVID-19, and 11,861 cases among employees, for a total of 74,344 at 1,536 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of total deaths, 11,170 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. In McKean County, nine facilities reported 352 cases among residents, 106 among staff and 44 deaths. In Elk County, three facilities reported 119 cases among residents, 50 among staff and seven deaths. In Potter County, three facilities reported 34 cases among residents, 15 among staff and the first death reported in a long-term care facility in the county. In Cameron County, one facility reported 34 cases among residents, 9 among staff and two deaths.
