The number of new cases of COVID-19 in the region was lower Thursday than it has been recently, with three dozen for the region.
There were 17 new cases of COVID-19 in McKean County for a total of 2,349 — 1,844 confirmed, 505 probable, 8,555 negative tests and 51 deaths.
Elk County had 14 new cases for a total of 2,010 — 1,107 confirmed, 903 probable, 4,862 negatives tests and 30 deaths.
There were five new cases of COVID-19 in Potter County for a total of 787 — 688 confirmed, 99 probable, 2,795 negative tests and 17 total deaths.
Cameron County had no change, with 221 cases and six deaths. The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 260 new deaths as of Thursday’s reporting, for a total of 20,128 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
As of Thursday, the health department reported there were 5,664 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 788,834.
There were 13 additional cases of COVID-19 in Bradford, for 740 confirmed and 146 probable; Smethport, 2 more, 254 confirmed, 32 probable; one more in Mount Jewett, for 41 confirmed and 13 probable; and one more in Eldred, for 102 confirmed, 18 probable.
In Elk County, there were seven more cases in St. Marys for 499 confirmed and 384 probable; two more cases in Ridgway, for 248 confirmed and 145 probable; Johnsonburg, two more, 114 confirmed, 60 probable; Wilcox, one more, 26 confirmed, 26 probable; Brockport, 1 more, 44 confirmed, 27 probable; and one more in Kersey for 70 confirmed and 91 probable.
In Potter County, three more cases were reported in Coudersport for 271 confirmed and 49 probable; one more in Shinglehouse for 117 confirmed and 20 probable; and Harrison Valley was up to 24 confirmed and 5 probable.
There are 4,882 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 889 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. There were three patients hospitalized in McKean County, eight in Potter County with two in intensive care, and four hospitalized in Elk County.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 60,597 resident cases of COVID-19, and 11,372 cases among employees, for a total of 71,969 at 1,525 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of our total deaths, 10,137 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
In McKean County, nine facilities reported 340 cases among residents, 95 among staff and 30 deaths. In Elk County, three facilities reported 112 cases among residents, 48 among staff and 7 deaths. In Potter County, two facilities reported 33 cases among residents and 15 among staff. In Cameron County, one facility reported 33 cases among residents, 9 among staff and one death.
