A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail after allegedly threatening to bash someone’s head in with a tire iron.
James F. Wilcox, 33, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor, and harassment, a summary charge.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:23 a.m. Saturday, Foster Township police were dispatched for a report of a domestic dispute involving a tire iron. The parties separated before police arrived, but a short time later it began to escalate again.
Upon arrival, police learned that Wilcox and a female had been arguing since Jan. 4 about a number of matters. At one point during the argument, Wilcox went to the garage, grabbed a tire iron and told her he was going to “bash her ‘f***ing head in,’” the complaint stated. Multiple witnesses told police this is what happened.
Wilcox also told police he was planning to go to Buffalo, N.Y., with a friend. According to the complaint, Wilcox is listed as an escape risk in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
Wilcox is in jail in lieu of $25,000. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 27.
