An Emporium man was jailed after an alleged aggravated assault and stalking incident Jan. 11.
Derek J. Glover, 27, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault-attempts to cause serious bodily injury with extreme indifference to the value of human life, first-degree felonies; one count of stalking, a first-degree misdemeanor; two counts each of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; one count each of criminal mischief and accident involving damage to attended vehicle/property.
Also, he faces the following summary charges: harassment, failure to stop and give information/render aid, careless driving, reckless driving, driving at a safe speed and following too closely.
According to Emporium-based state police, troopers were called at 9:34 p.m. Jan. 11 to Old West Creek Road, Shippen Township, for reports of a hit-and run incident. The alleged incident involved a 2015 Chevrolet Spark and a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado.
Police did not say if anyone was injured or provide any further details on the allegations against Glover.
Glover was arraigned before District Judge Mark Jacob and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 4.
Glover has two other active criminal cases in Cameron County, including one that is also for stalking allegations.
In the stalking case, for allegations from Dec. 3 in Emporium, he is charged with misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, stalking, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief, as well as a summary charge. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.
In the other case, for allegations from July 2, Glover faces felony charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of children, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possessing an instrument of crime and possession of drug paraphernalia. A hearing is set for Feb. 16 in Cameron County Court.
