The Pennsylvania Department of Health data on Thursday showed another 80 cases of COVID-19 in the local region.
There were 24 additional cases of COVID-19 in McKean County, for a total of 2,165 — 1,722 confirmed and 443 probable, and 8,374 negative tests. In Elk County, there were 40 additional cases for a total of 1,785 — 1,071 confirmed, 714 probable and 4,776 negative tests. There were two additional deaths, for a total of 27.
In Potter County, there were 11 additional cases for 740 total — 653 confirmed, 87 probable and 2,704 negative tests. There was one additional death for a total of 17.
In Cameron County, there were 5 additional cases for 205 total — 145 confirmed, 60 probable and 809 negative tests. There was one additional death for a total of 6. As of Thursday, there were 313 new deaths reported for a total of 18,742 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicated Thursday that there were 7,175 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 748,564.
In Bradford, there were 13 additional cases for 694 confirmed and 133 probable; Kane, 3 more, 252 confirmed, 40 probable; Smethport, 4 more, 230 confirmed, 23 probable; Port Allegany, 2 more, 152 confirmed, 12 probable; and Eldred, 2 more, 95 confirmed, 14 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 23 additional cases for 484 confirmed and 292 probable; Ridgway, 8 more, 241 confirmed, 103 probable; Johnsonburg, 3 more, 111 confirmed, 49 probable; Kersey, 3 more, 66 confirmed, 71 probable; Brockport, 1 more, 41 confirmed, 26 probable; and Weedville, 1 more, 57 confirmed, 29 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport had 11 additional cases for 261 confirmed and 44 probable.
In Cameron County, Emporium had 2 more cases for 130 confirmed and 48 probable. Driftwood had at least 2 more cases for 6 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
The health department indicated that as of Thursday, there were 5,069 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, near double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,035 patients were in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In McKean County, two patients were hospitalized with COVID-19, one in intensive care; in Elk, 5 were hospitalized; and in Potter, seven were hospitalized, one in intensive care.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 58,577 resident cases of COVID-19, and 11,010 cases among employees, for a total of 69,587 at 1,507 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of our total deaths, 9,823 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
In McKean County, nine facilities reported 286 cases among residents, 93 among staff and 29 deaths. In Elk County, three facilities reported 107 cases among residents, 47 among staff and seven deaths. In Potter County, two facilities reported 33 cases among residents and 14 among staff. In Cameron County, one facility reported 33 cases among residents, 9 among staff and one death.
