COUDERSPORT — The Otto-Eldred girls basketball made a statement Wednesday night, topping defending District 9 champion Coudersport, 38-27.
The road victory marked the program’s first win over the Lady Falcons since Jan. 27, 2018 and gave head coach Shawn Gray his first win over Coudersport. He was 0-6 against the Lady Falcons prior to Wednesday.
Katie Sheeler led the Lady Terrors (2-0) with 12 points and Reilly Raught finished behind her with seven. Raught, Bri Heller and Emmalee Sheeler each brought down six rebounds for O-E during the victory, while Katie Sheeler tallied five steals. Morgan Dalton and Katie Sheeler each hit a pair of shots from behind the arc.
O-E led 8-7 after the first quarter and turned up its intensity on the defensive end of the floor, holding the Lady Falcons (1-1) scoreless in the second quarter.
After taking an 18-7 halftime lead, the Lady Terrors were able to keep their foot on the gas in the second half on their way to a huge victory.
For the Lady Falcons, Elizabeth Frame had a team-high seven points, while Rosalyn Page and Sarah Chambers each scored five.

Cameron County 53, Northern Potter 33
ULYSSES — Cameron County rebounded from Tuesday night’s lopsided loss to Coudersport with a 20-point road win over Northern Potter on Wednesday.
Hailey Hilfiger led the way for the Lady Raiders (2-1) with 21 points and Kaelee Bresslin was behind her with 10 points.
It was a tight game for one half as Northern Potter (0-2) trailed by just a point after the first quarter and five points at halftime. But Cameron County outscored Northern Potter 20-4 in the third quarter and cruised to a victory from there.
Aubrey Anderson and Courtney Martin combined for 28 of Northern Potter’s 33 points during the loss. Anderson tallied 18 points and Martin recorded 10.
