Technical maintenance to the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s data server on Sunday led to lower numbers for additional cases of COVID-19 in the region.

According to the data, there were just 11 more cases in McKean County for a total of 2,090; 5 more in Elk for 1,675; 3 more in Potter for a total of 708; and 1 more in Cameron County for 187 total.

In the state, there were 5,338 additional positive cases of COVID-19, in addition to 7,506 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 12,844 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 726,154.

There are 5,201 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, near double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,062 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.

In McKean County, there were 8 hospitalizations for COVID-19, 2 in intensive care. In Elk County, there were 6 patients hospitalized, and in Potter, 4 hospitalized, 1 in intensive care.

As of Monday, there were a total of 17,853 deaths attributed to COVID-19. McKean County reported one additional death, for a total of 33.

Statewide, in nursing and personal care homes, there are 57,376 resident cases of COVID-19, and 10,567 cases among employees, for a total of 67,943 at 1,495 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of our total deaths, 9,383 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

In McKean County, 9 facilities reported 280 cases among residents, 86 among staff and 26 deaths. In Elk County, three facilities reported 107 cases among residents, 42 among staff and 6 deaths. In Potter County, two facilities had 28 cases among residents and 14 among staff.

In Cameron County, one facility reported 31 cases among residents, 8 among staff and one death.
