Area residents who wish to be tested for COVID-19 will have the opportunity to do so locally via a four-day clinic beginning Jan 20.
A drive-thru and walk-in clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 20-24 at the St. Bernard’s School building, 450 W. Washington Street.
No appointment will be necessary, and registration will be completed on site. Those who wish to be tested are asked to bring a photo or their insurance card if available.
However, the testing will be conducted at no cost to patients.
Testing is first come, first serve; and patients must be age three and older. Turnaround time for test results is two to seven days.
The test will be a mid-nasal passage swab PCR test, with up to 450 patients per day tested.
Patients are not required to show symptoms of COVID-19 to be tested.
During the testing process, patients will be asked to blow their nose and discard tissues in a plastic bag. Then, a test swab will be handed to the patient, who will be asked to swab the inside of each nostril before returning the swab to the test-site staff.
