Upcoming projects and township appointments were on the agenda for the first Foster Township meeting of the year, which took place Monday evening.
According to George Hocker, Foster Township supervisor, the township is looking at finishing ditching and berming on Lafferty Hollow, East Main Street, Bolivar Drive and Bordell Road. Additionally, on Dallas and BJ roads, they plan on putting new bottoms in the pipes on the bridges.
Hocker noted that completion of the planned work depends on COVID-19 impacts/restrictions.
“We got a grant from the state and plan on redoing the bridges on Harrisburg Run Road and Fairview Heights, though a lot of this is dependent on COVID-19 restrictions,” he explained. “Project completion depends on whether we can obtain the materials and they don’t have the plants closed.”
Township appointments were also approved at the meeting, including the following: Roadmaster, Gus Crissman; Police Liaison, Carl McCracken; Sewer Liaison, George Hocker; Road Foreman, Chad Babcock; Police Chief, Tom Munn; Zoning Officer, Mark Grassi; Code Enforcement Officer, Kevin Shaffer; Township Solicitor, Stapleford & Byham, LLC; Labor Solicitor, Cafardi, Ferguson, Wyrick, Weis & Stotler; Township Engineer, Stiffler, McGraw & Associates, Inc.; Certified Public Accountant, Buffamante, Whipple & Buttafaro; Sewage Enforcement Officer, Todd Fantaskey; and Alternate Sewage Enforcement Officer, Nick Melnick.
